Podgorica: Person under investigation for serious crime against public traffic safety taken into custody

(59) from Zeta, suspected of committing a serious crime against public traffic safety. Police and prosecution measures indicate suspicion that the traffic accident occurred when M.A., driving from Smokovac towards Mateševo, stopped his vehicle in the far right traffic lane due to a vehicle malfunction, then exited the vehicle. Following contact, the passenger vehicle moved and collided with M.A., who subsequently sustained injuries resulting in death. The police urge all traffic participants to obey traffic rules and adjust their speed to road conditions and other factors affecting traffic safety. Drivers are also advised to, when possible, stop their vehicle in the emergency stopping lane in case of a malfunction. If the emergency lane does not exist on that section of the road, the driver is obliged to properly mark the vehicle and take necessary measures to ensure their safety and that of other traffic participants.
