Call for Proposals to Strengthen the Framework for Protected Area Management in Montenegro, RfP 07/2026 within the GEF7 Project
The RFP 07/2006 within the GEF7 project 'Integrating Biodiversity into Sectoral Policies and Practices and Strengthening the Protection of Key Biodiversity Areas in Montenegro,' implemented by the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development, and Urban Planning, invites you to submit a proposal to strengthen the framework for protected area management in Montenegro. The project focuses on key biodiversity areas (KBAs) in Montenegro, encompassing various interventions including ecosystem protection and working with sectors such as tourism, agriculture, and forestry. Component 1 addresses management constraints related to protected areas and unprotected key biodiversity points, ensuring improved management of pilot protected areas to meet international biodiversity protection standards. Component 2 targets sectors outside protected areas near KBAs, addressing sectoral threats to biodiversity through practices adapted to biodiversity and sectoral development scenarios for tourism, forestry, and agriculture, considering potential impacts on biodiversity. Proposals should be submitted electronically to: nebojsa.banicevic@mers.gov.me no later than Friday, 17th.
