Traps and Yellow Sticky Plates Installed for Monitoring Fruit Flies from the Tephritidae Family

In the past year, special monitoring of fruit flies from the Tephritidae family was conducted. From September, Jackson traps with methyl eugenol attractant were set up to monitor quarantine species from the Bactrocera genus (dorsalis complex and zonata) in Podgorica's retail centers (city markets) and wholesale distribution centers. Additionally, as part of the program, yellow sticky plates were installed to monitor apple fruit flies (Rhagoletis pomonella Walsh) at markets and in the purchasing distribution center. Yellow sticky plates with specific attractants were also used for the Mexican fruit fly (Anastrepha ludens Loew). Monitoring will continue to ensure early detection of any presence of quarantine fruit fly species.
