Ivanović in Brussels: Statehood is preserved through responsibility towards the future

Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Dr. Filip Ivanović addressed officials at a ceremonial reception on Statehood Day and the twentieth anniversary of Montenegro's independence restoration, organized in Brussels by the Montenegrin Embassy in the Kingdom of Belgium and the Montenegrin Mission to the European Union. In his speech, Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović emphasized that celebrating Statehood Day and twenty years since independence restoration is an opportunity to confirm that Montenegro is a country that determines its future for the benefit of all its citizens, based on freedom, the rule of law, and equality. Speaking about the symbolism of July 13th, he highlighted that this date is a lasting reminder of the historical continuity of Montenegrin statehood and the fight for freedom. Therefore, I believe that this generation will also be remembered for the decision to turn the European future of our country into a lasting legacy for all Montenegrin citizens, the deputy prime minister concluded. A special part of his speech was dedicated to the Montenegrin diaspora, which he assessed as an important support for modern Montenegro and its strong connection with Europe and the world.
