Applying for the 99th Academy Award in the Best International Feature Film category
In 2026, film submissions (fiction, documentary, animated - over 40 minutes) are open for the selection of the Montenegrin candidate for the 99th Academy Awards – Oscar in the Best International Feature Film category. Eligible are registered Montenegrin film producers, provided that the film was first publicly screened in Montenegro between January 1 and December 31. The selection committee will evaluate only films submitted in a technically correct copy (35mm/70mm/DCP). If a film is chosen as the Montenegrin candidate, the producer must submit the complete application materials to the Academy by Wednesday, January 30.
