Ibrahimović at Dubrovnik Forum 2026: Confirmed Credible and Predictable Pro-European Policy of Montenegro
This year's forum provided a platform for broad exchange of opinions on key regional and global issues, with a special focus on Europe's current security architecture and geopolitical challenges in the era of multipolarity. Participants emphasized that stability in the Western Balkans, through intensified regional cooperation and accelerated integration processes, is crucial for the region's resilience to modern global challenges. We believe this is a responsibility that transcends national borders and that Montenegro's successful pro-European story can serve as a positive example and encouragement for the countries of the region, confirming that reforms, dialogue, and good neighborly cooperation yield tangible results. Additionally, the formation of a special Ad hoc Working Group for drafting the Accession Treaty clearly confirms that Montenegro has already entered the final stage of negotiations with the European Union. Moreover, on the sidelines of the forum, Ibrahimović met with the Slovenian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Tone Kajzer, where an open and friendly discussion confirmed excellent bilateral relations characterized by traditional partnership and a shared European vision. The mutual commitment to further strengthening overall cooperation was highlighted, with a particular focus on continuous and firm support from Slovenia in accelerating Montenegro's European integration process, both politically and at the expert level. Montenegro remains strongly committed to a credible and predictable pro-European foreign policy, as well as constructive dialogue and full cooperation at the international level, concluded Ibrahimović, assessing that the country, through active participation in regional initiatives and consistent fulfillment of obligations from the European agenda, continuously affirms its role as a stable, reliable, and recognizable regional partner.
